The roof area needed to include seating, dining and cooking spaces, and a sauna integrated into the stair penthouse structure. The deck captures panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Coit Tower and beyond. A steel super-structure distributes the deck loads to the existing exterior walls avoiding structural work below.
